27th September – 3rd October, 2008 For the first time in its 12-year history, Fairway to Heaven is leaving Scotland and coming to Australia. Written about in the golf book ‘Preferred Lies’ by award winning author Andrew Greig, the programme has had much media attention since its inception in 1997 in international newspapers, magazines and radio broadcasts. We are happy to announce that the 2008 programme will be held on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. We will use the unique and beautifully appointed Stables Conference Centre as our base for the week. Truly a golfer’s paradise, the Mornington area is renowned for its dazzling array of gorgeous links golf courses, set on the stunning landscape of south Victoria overlooking the Southern Ocean. Following our tradition of selecting from the best on offer, we will play six exceptional courses, including some the top rated in Australia. We are excited to experience our special variety of ‘spiritual golf’ in this Great South Land for the first time in our 12-year history. ‘Spiritual Golf’ is about exploring the magic and mystery of the game as well as sharing and reflecting on our own individual journeys along the fairways of life. Fairway to Heaven brings together lovers of the game for a fun-filled and meaningful week of exploration, play and camaraderie. The course will be lead by superlative golfer and coach, Steve Maguire, and the two founders - Joan Shafer from North Carolina and John Talbott, who now lives in Sydney.
